Pack + Potluck

Thanks to all who voted to share what would be the most meaningful way to spend a holiday weekend! This year, we extend the warm and fuzzies of gratitude from Thanksgiving into Sunday with a Pack + Potluck event, where we can nourish the neighborhood as we nourish ourselves.

As the temperatures drop in Baltimore, the community around 1900 St Paul Street experiences increased need for winter warming supplies. To best serve those who knock on our doors seeking assistance, we will prepare winter kits of basic goods that keep some of the cold at bay. Friends at North Ave Mission advised us on a list of most needed items. These are warm socks, handwarmers, individual servings of tuna, and toothpaste.

A combination of Dreams + Visions funds plus donations from members will supply three of these items and Ziploc bags for us to pack them in. Bring a 6-pack of warm socks to contribute the finishing touch to the kits, plus any other supplies you are interested in contributing.

Well, okay, not only socks! Help make this a good old fashioned potluck by bringing a favorite dish to share. To keep things COVID-safe, we will plan to keep the food inside the fellowship hall on a buffet where we can serve ourselves and get warm, and then eat outside at some tables around the portico.

Please let us know if you have dietary restrictions we can support—the guiding philosophy will be: the more options the merrier!

Dreams and Visions is an LGBTQ+ rooted community. We honor your full selves, use your pronouns, and do our best to create trauma-informed spaces. Gender neutral bathrooms are available. While the lower level is accessible by ramp, the new worship space is located up a set of stairs. Please contact Vicar Claire at vicar@stmarksbaltimore.org if you have trouble navigating stairs, and we will work with you to create a plan.

Dreams and Visions staff keep an eye on COVID data to ensure that community policies stay up to date. For now, we remain masked at all indoor gatherings. We are still singing, and we will do it only when we are outside and wearing masks. Each time we gather, we confirm safety preferences with those present to ensure that everyone is comfortable. As always, these precautions are intended to help all who join us feel at home.
