This Winter as the cold and dark sets in, Dreams and Visions is kindling a practice to help us live in warmth and light. Every Wednesday night at 6pm, you are invited to gather onine, light a candle, and join in a simple service of prayer and song.
“Vespers” in an ancient Christian practice of evening prayer in which we thank God for the light and prepare our hearts for nighttime and sleep.
In a time when we can feel disconnected, lost, wounded, or fearful, grounding ourselves in song and prayer can bring solace and hope.
Each Vespers service includes a time to check in and hear how each participant is doing as well as reading and reflecting on scripture.
We will pray Vespers every Wednesday evening through the season after Epiphany and Lent., concluding just before Easter ushers us into Spring.
You are welcome to take part, whether you live here in Baltimore or across the nation or world!
All you need is a candle and a match.
