The season of Lent encourages to take on new embodied practices—things like prayers for waking and sleeping, fasting from particular foods, or adding moments of silence throughout the day. These practices help us use our bodies to tune our hearts and minds to God’s work in us. This Sunday, we offer a yoga worship service as an embodied practice the whole community can share.
The service will be led by a special guest, local Episcopal priest and certified yoga teacher Cristina Paglinauan. Yoga can mean many different things. For our worship service, the liturgy will be guided by the tradition of YogaMass, which you can read more about here. Cristina will offer simple yogic movements that are gentle and accessible for all bodies and all abilities. Our intention will not to be work-out but rather to slow down, nurturing our bodies into a state of relaxation so that we can feel God’s love for ourselves and among our community.
Come ready to feel as cozy as possible—wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a mat or a blanket you can move a bit on.
After service, we will enjoy bread and soup on the portico.

For the safety of all we'll continue to mask. We have begun singing indoors while wearing masks.

Dreams and Visions is an LGBTQ+ rooted community. We honor your full selves, use your pronouns, and do our best to create trauma-informed spaces. Gender neutral bathrooms are available. While the lower level is accessible by ramp, the new worship space is located up a set of stairs. Please contact Vicar Claire at vicar@stmarksbaltimore.org if you have trouble navigating stairs, and we will work with you to create a plan.
Dreams and Visions staff keep an eye on COVID data to ensure that community policies stay up to date. For now, we remain masked at all indoor gatherings. We sing while wearing masks. Each time we gather, we confirm safety preferences with those present to ensure that everyone is comfortable. As always, these precautions are intended to help all who join us feel at home.
