Release the captives!
Let the oppressed go free!
This summer, Dreams and Visions will embark on a new series, exploring one of the boldest calls for justice in scripture.
These lines, spoken by the prophet Isaiah and echoed by Jesus, call us to a radical vision of the beloved community, where prison cells sit empty and poverty has no place.
Our series continues on Sunday, June 28 as we focus on the line, “God has anointed me.” We continue to celebrate Pride, remembering that we are beloved and anointed by God, commissioned for a particular purpose.
This service, we will focus on the intersections of Pride and the Black Lives Matter movement, remembering that God’s liberation is promised not just to a few, but to all.
Online worship is at 4 p.m., every second and fourth Sunday.

Our guest preacher this week is Alicia T. Crosby (she/hers) who is a justice educator, activist, and (sometimes reluctant) minister whose work addresses the spiritual, systemic, and interpersonal harm people experience. Alicia helps individuals, communities, and institutions explore and unpack topics related to identity, inclusivity, journey, and intersectional identity.
Alicia’s passions for justice, spiritually engaged activism, and community engagement led her to pursue a M.A. in social justice and certificate in Non-Profit Management & Philanthropy at Loyola University in Chicago. She also holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Education, Psychology, and Pastoral Studies from Hollins University.
We can think of no one better to speak wisdom to our community from a justice-based, Queer-affirming, intersectional perspective as we celebrate Pride!
This week, we focus on the line from Luke 4, “Because God has anointed me.” That means YOU!
