For an extra Sunday service this month, we partner with St. Mark’s to offer an extra-special service in honor of the wonderful Pastor Emily. Installation is a public recognition of the placement of a pastor to a specific congregation. While pastors are ordained to their ministry only once, they are installed each time they begin work with a new community.

The service will be much different from our usual weekly gatherings, as it will be true to the St. Mark’s style. Prepare to be amazed by a traditional high-liturgical mass that incorporates the gifts of members from both St. Mark’s and Dreams + Visions. The Bishop of the Delaware-Maryland Synod of the Lutheran church will preside over the service, welcoming Emily into this community and inviting us to recognize her place among us. The invitation has been extended to neighbors from Station North, plus friends and family from near and far who are eager to celebrate this new chapter with Pastor Emily.

At the conclusion of the service, those who are able will process to the new Dreams and Visions space, now just about complete with our own special flourishes, and it will be blessed by the Bishop. Then, Dreams and Visions will sign the formal partnership covenant with St. Mark’s.

Afterwards, all who have gathered will be welcome to attend a festive reception afterwards with free food and drink for all.

We will look forward our own special Dreams and Visions installation once we’ve settled in a bit. For now, this special service will honor the holiness of this particular community and Pastor Emily’s commitment to it.

Dreams and Visions staff keep an eye on COVID data to ensure that community policies stay up to date. For now, we remain masked at all indoor gatherings. We are still singing, and we will do it only when we are outside and wearing masks. Each time we gather, we confirm safety preferences with those present to ensure that everyone is comfortable. As always, these precautions are intended to help all who join us feel at home.
