Queer Bible Camp: Friendship Bracelets

This summer, Dreams and Visions is creating the Queerest Bible Camp experience you never had!

It’s our own unique riff on the classic summer camp vibe, compete with lanyards, friendship bracelets, camp songs, and all your favorite summer camp snacks! Plus the queerest stories of the bible and the expansive theology they open up.

We’ll foster a healthy space of exploration of these stories of love and resurrection, allowing ourselves a gentle way into scripture. We hope to find more ways to see ourselves in holy texts, with lots of songs and snacks along the way.

For June’s service, we’ll dive into Queer friendship in the Bible and in our lives, taking a look at the story of David and Solomon, then braiding friendship bracelets and thinking back on how friends have figured in our lives. Communion around the “campfire.” Then fellowship over S’mores ice cream and one more craft will complete our time at camp!

Bring yourself, brings a friend, bring your kiddos or teens for these fun and lively experiences that will open your hearts and refresh your souls. Everyone is welcome: LGBTQ+ kin and allies too.

Masks are now optional at Dreams and Visions, however, we do wear masks while singing. Our room is large with lots of space to spread out!

Dreams and Visions is an LGBTQ+ rooted community. We honor your full selves, use your pronouns, and do our best to create trauma-informed spaces. Gender neutral bathrooms are available. While the lower level is accessible by ramp, the new worship space is located up a set of stairs. Please contact Vicar Claire at vicar@stmarksbaltimore.org if you have trouble navigating stairs, and we will work with you to create a plan.
